This week as part of our Village Wild video series, we're featuring an incredible video submitted by Jason Breen from Sydney Australia.
In the video, Jason can be seen cruising along the waves and enjoying incredible views when all of a sudden, he finds himself being wiped out by a massive, breaching Humpback whale.
"I was hit by a breaching Humpback whale while windsurfing at Mona Vale beach Sydney Australia," wrote Jason in his submission form.
Easily a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, and likely an experience that Jason won't ever forget. Luckily everyone came out unscathed, and Jason was able to capture the entire incident.
Did you know?
Humpback whales, found in all oceans around the world, have an overall body size of 13-14 metres long and can weigh up to 45 tonnes.
Humpback whales are renowned for their charismatic behaviours both above and below the ocean’s surface. Humpbacks frequently launch themselves into the air and land with a splash, known as breaching.
