As we bid farewell to another wonderful summer, the Farmers' Almanac has just dropped its much-anticipated winter 2024 extended weather forecast.

While winter may officially kick off on December 21, 2023, Old Man Winter plans to make an early appearance, with meteorological winter starting on December 1, so make sure to check your region's December forecast for the early chilly details.

The almanac, which has been the go-to source for weather predictions for over two centuries, is predicting the return of more traditional winter weather.

This means it's time to prepare for the quintessential winter experiences, including cozy evenings by the fireside, exhilarating skiing adventures, and outdoor ice skating. According to the almanac, a significant portion of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and westernmost Ontario should brace for very cold temperatures and an abundance of chilly days.

In contrast, Newfoundland and Labrador will experience icy temperatures, but our projections indicate that these regions may not face the same level of cold as central Canada. British Columbia, however, is expected to enjoy near-normal temperatures throughout the winter season.
