With various farms and fields dotted across the province, each with their unique offerings and experiences, exploring Ontario's lavender farms promises to be a memorable summer activity.

From picking your own lavender to trying unique lavender-infused products and attending events, there is no shortage of things to do and see. In this article, we will explore some of the top lavender farms in Ontario that you can visit this summer.

Lavender Works Co.

Located in the heart of Huron County, Lavender Works Co. is a beautiful farm home to 2000 plants in six varieties with plans to grow further. Here you'll find small batch, hand crafted products all made without harsh chemicals, preservatives, and pesticides to ensure premium quality, including fresh and dried lavender and body and home products that have the soothing aromatherapy of lavender essential oil infused into each one.

Christel Lake Lavender Farm

Located near Uxbridge and Port Perry, this farm has lavender fields surrounding a spring-fed lake. There's also a playground on-site for kids and a gift shop for lavender-infused products. Reservations are required, and the farm operates seasonally.

Apple Hill Lavender

Nestled in beautiful Norfolk County, Apple Hill Lavender is situated on a historic, century-old family farm featuring rolling lavender fields this lavender farm is open to the public from May to December. Picnic under old apple trees, stroll the lavender fields or shop in the Carriage House Boutique. Be sure to enjoy some award-winning Lavender Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and other snacks from the Bakehouse.

Just west of Brampton, this farm has a postcard-perfect heritage stone house, picturesque lavender fields, and a charming country guest house for those looking for a weekend away. Advance booking is required for professional shoots, but amateur photographers are welcome to join mini-tours of the farm.

Lochland Botanicals

West of Milton, Lochland Botanicals grows a variety of herbs and flowers, including peppermint, sage, sunflowers, and of course, lavender on a picturesque horse farm. The farm offers pick-your-own opportunities, classes and workshops on how to use herb and floral products for culinary and wellness purpose, and mini photography sessions, which require advance reservations.

The Lavender Farm

This scenic lavender farm, located outside of Cambridge, is a popular wedding venue, but photographers are also welcome to shoot the rustic barn, antique farm equipment, and vast lavender fields. Since 1882, the Lavender Farm has been a family farm, but it wasn't until 2011 that lavender became the main crop.

Serenity Lavender Farm

Nestled on the north shore of Lake Erie, this farm grows over 40 lavender varieties and invites visitors to 'learn the language of lavender' on a farm tour. The shop sells lavender-infused products, and North 42 Degrees Estate Winery offers tastings of their wines.

Prince Edward County Lavender

If you find yourself in Prince Edward County this summer, peak flowering period at this farm is late June into early July. Prince Edward Country Lavender also hosts a two-day Lavender Festival each July, and visitors can pick up essential lavender oil or try new products like a sugar exfoliation scrubs and Lavender & Earl Grey Cream tea. There's also a B&B on the farm for those looking for a charming place to stay.

Bonnieheath Estate Lavender and Winery

Once a tobacco farm, this property has successfully transitioned into a lavender farm and winery. Visitors can enjoy a glass of wine or cider and wander through the vineyards, prairie grasses, lavender fields, and natural wetland.

South Bay Fields is a family owned and operated 18-acre  farm just two minutes south of Collingwood, Ontario and is home to over 5000 mature lavender plants, sunflowers, wildflowers, and free-range chickens

The Purple Hollow

Located in the beautiful Georgian Bay area, nestled in rolling hills, this farm is home to multiple cultivars of French and English lavenders, specialty cut blooms, and gorgeous sunflowers. This 6-hectare Christmas Tree farm is also home to beautiful lavender fields. In addition to the stunning lavender, visitors can also enjoy a historic grain silo, seasonal activities like wagon rides and nature walks, and unique lavender products such as lavender chocolate sauce, caramelized onion lavender chutney, lavender teas along with various bath and body products.

Avalon Lavender Farm

At Avalon Lavender Farm, you can stroll through over 30,000 lavender plants and even cut your own lavender to take home. Indulge in lavender-inspired treats like lavender white hot chocolate and lavender simple syrup. Seasonal yoga classes are also available in the Celtic Stone Circle.

Essentially Lavender

Essentially Lavender, located in Bruce County, offers tours of their stunning gardens, which include lavender, a labyrinth, shrub and perennial gardens, a xeriscape garden, and an apiary. Kelso Lavender is a family-run lavender farm in Milton, Ontario. Established in 2017, the farm is home to over 25,000 lavender plants and counting grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Their unique line of lavender products includes lavender-infused skin care, home care, and seasonal products.
